Johnston Rigging are fortunate to have been involved with the “New Horizon” project at Superglass Insulation in Stirling, Scotland.

Our site teams have been involved with the provision of crane hire services and the erecting of the new furnace building and associated steelworks.

We were recently tasked with the erection of a bridge which spans over several roofs within the same plant to the newly erected furnace building. It’s testament to the quality of JRF’s work that we were asked to assist with this latest phase of the project.

Our LTM1070 and LTM1040 assisted our steel erectors with the assembling of the towers and bridges on ground level. We utilised a mobile self-erecting tower crane to position the bridge support and to assist with strip out works to accommodate the new bridge.

One of the bridge sections spanned 26 meters and weighed in at 20,000kg. This was lifted and placed using a 500Te mobile crane with an 84 meter of boom and Y-Guy. Manoeuvring of the bridge between the existing flue stacks and walkways was a tricky task but with control measures in place and precise communication to the crane operator it was executed with ease.

We offered a complete package for our customer for complete peace of mind.

Why not give us a try and “Let us take the weight” on your next project, whether it be Structural Steel Erecting or Contract Lifting we have it covered.
